LEIGH TAYLOR CUP - Individual Medal played from the White tees, played
during the May (Spring) Meeting, for a cup once associated with the defunct
Merionethshire Golf Club.
THE HARLECH TOWN BOWL - Individual match-play played from the White
Tees, played during the Men’s Summer (August) Meeting. One of the historic
knock-out events of British golf, going back to 1897 and an open competition
until the 1970s.
EDWARD THE 7TH BOWL - Top 8 qualify for this competition from the More
Memorial Cup. Individual match-play played from the White Tees, played
during the Men’s Summer (August) Meeting. A wonderful ruby-encrusted
bowl presented to the club by Midland Amateur Golfers to commemorate the
accession of King Edward VII in 1901.
HAROLD FINCH HATTON MEMORIAL CUP - Individual Medal played from the
White tees, played during the Men’s Summer (August) Meeting, for a cup that
commemorates Harold Finch-Hatton, one of the club’s two founders.
THE STAFF COLLEGE CHALLENGE OWL - Individual Medal played from the
White tees, played during the May (Spring) Meeting. This is nowadays perhaps
the principal medal of the year, for a magni昀椀cent owl (of which the winner
receives a miniature replica) donated by the Staff College, Camberley, whose
of昀椀cers were made honorary members of the Club when training for imperial
service.
ST DAVIDS GOLD CUP - Top 8 qualify for this competition from the Vice
Captain’s Prize. Individual match-play played from the White Tees, played during
the May (Spring) Meeting. This historic cup is solid gold, and comes out once a
year for special display.
CAPTAINS PRIZE - Individual Stableford played from the Yellow tees, played
during the Men’s Summer (August) Meeting, for a prize presented by the Captain
PRESIDENTS PRIZE - Individual Stableford played from the Yellow tees, played
during the President’s Weekend at the end of September, for a prize presented by
the President.
